The DSP Dimension Releases DIRAC2 Public Beta (Win, Mac, Linux, iPhone)

Mainz, Germany, October 6th, 2009 — The DSP Dimension is happy to announce the first public beta of its new DIRAC2 time stretching/pitch shifting library for Windows, MacOS X, Linux and the Apple iPhone. DIRAC2 is the successor of its critically acclaimed hi-end DSP solution to change pitch and speed of complex audio material such as entire mixes independently of each other and without sacrificing quality.

DIRAC’s highly optimized API makes including this library into any audio application a breeze and its superior quality makes it the choice of the pros: Autodesk/Discreet, Steinberg Wavelab and Prosoniq TimeFactory 2 are just a few examples of companies that already use DIRAC. What’s more, the powerful LE version that includes many features of the commercial version is entirely free!

Version 2 offers increased speed, a better preview mode, better formant correction, iPhone support, 64bit support and is now ANSI C callable. Since Apple is not providing the AUTimePitch AudioUnit for the iPhone, iPhone developers had to use their own methods to change pitch and speed of audio signals independently. This has now changed: DIRAC2 is available as an iPhone static library that works both in the simulator and on the device. For the first time, this brings studio quality time stretching to the iPhone platform!

As of today, DIRAC v2 for the iPhone is in public beta test and we expect to release support for its full range of platforms this week. The LE version will continue to be free, upgrades for existing 1.x licenses will also be available.

For general information on the product please visit our DIRAC page at http://www.dspdimension.com/technology-licensing/dirac/ which will also be updated to version 2 as soon as the beta test has completed.

If you want to participate in the beta test and download a fully functional beta version of the free LE version for all platforms right now you can do so from http://beta.dspdimension.com/DIRAC2-LE-beta.zip. Please contact us with any questions or problems that you might have via our contact form.
